Software Outlet cares about your privacy. We therefore only process data that we need for (the improvement of) our services and will be careful with the information we have collected about you and your use of our services. We never make your data available to third parties for commercial purposes.
Below you can read how we process your data, where we store it (or have it stored), what security techniques we use and to whom the data is accessible..
Your data will be stored on a Dutch server
We host our web shop on servers under our own management. We have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent misuse, loss and corruption of data as much as possible. These security measures include the use of SSL encryption and a strong password policy. Regular backups are made to prevent loss of data. For keeping our services online, we cooperate with the leading Dutch provider: TransIP.
In order to process (part of) the payments in our web shop, we use the payment service providers Mollie, Adyen, Paypal and Klarna. These parties process your name, (email) address, possible residence details and your payment information such as your bank account or credit card number. Our payment providers have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. The payment providers reserve the right to use your details to further improve our services and, as part of this, to share (anonymised) data with third parties. It is also possible that, in the case of an application for a deferred payment (credit facility), parties may share your personal data and order data with a post-payment service provider. All the above-mentioned guarantees regarding the protection of your personal data also apply to those parts of the service provision by the above-mentioned providers for which they engage third parties. Payment service providers will not store your data any longer than permitted by law.
We collect reviews via various platforms, including Trustpilot, Trustedshops, Tweakers etc. If you leave a review through one of these platforms, you are required to provide your name, e-mail address and possibly other details. The review platforms share this information with us so that we can link the review to your order. The platform also publishes your name and sometimes your place of residence on its own website. In some cases, a review platform may contact you to explain your review. In the event that we invite you to leave a review, we will share your name, order number and e-mail address. They only use this information for the purpose of inviting you to leave a review. The review platforms we work with have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. All of the above-mentioned guarantees regarding the protection of your personal data also apply to those parts of the service provision for which review platforms engage third parties.
We use your data exclusively for the purpose of executing the agreement. This means that the purpose of the processing is always directly related to the assignment you have given. We do not use your details for (targeted) marketing. If you share information with us and we use this information - other than at your request - to contact you at a later date, we will ask you for your explicit permission. Your details will not be shared with third parties other than to meet accounting and other administrative obligations. These third parties are all bound to secrecy by agreement between them and us or by an oath or legal obligation.
Data that is automatically collected by our website is processed with the aim of further improving our services. These data (e.g. your IP address, web browser and operating system) are not personal data.
In some cases Software Outlet may be required by law to share your data in connection with governmental tax or criminal investigations. In such a case we are obliged to share your data.
We will retain your data for as long as you are a client of ours. This means that we will keep your customer profile until you indicate that you no longer wish to use our services. If you indicate this to us, we will offer you the opportunity to remove your data independently. Pursuant to applicable administrative obligations, we must retain invoices containing your (personal) data, and we will therefore retain this data for the duration of the applicable term. However, our employees no longer have access to your client profile and documents that we have produced as a result of your instructions.
